Lactation Accomodations

BreastfeedLA in partnership with PIHRA provides the following resources to encourage it's members to support employed breastfeeding mothers in the workplace.

For information on the laws that protect breastfeeding:

Since 2012, BreastfeedLA has surveyed PIHRA's members to identify knowledge, attitudes and beliefs about breastfeeding and workplace lactation accommodations. Only about half of PIHRA's members work for an employer that has a written policy on lactation accommodations, and a dedicated space for their employees to express milk. Employers that accommodate their lactating employees benefit from minimized risk and significant cost-savings by way of reduced absenteeism, turnover and health care expenses.
