Virtual HR Round Table & Book Club
Celebrates the Fascinating Life
of an American Legend:
Ruth Bader Ginsberg
Presented by Rande Sotomayor, Esq.
A Salute to RBG
Driven by personal experience as a Jewish woman, Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s legal career before she joined the Supreme Court had a monumental influence on advancing the process of combatting disparate treatment on the basis of gender and race. Her
passion was strategically crafting constitutional arguments to strike down the laws and policies of institutions that encouraged or required discrimination. Change is slow and requires all kinds of approaches.
Our facilitator, attorney, mediator
and arbitrator Rande Sotomayor states: “While we may have the laws to protect against discrimination, in practice we have a long way to go. Today we battle the more insidious enemy of implicit bias that persists in the workplace. Has RBG given us
any tools to fight that war?”
Rande will help us explore these and other penetrating questions from the perspective of a mediator/arbitrator and expert in conflict resolution. Readers may learn about her extraordinary life’s accomplishments
via any medium they choose--biographies, audio books, movies, plays or papers.
- Recognize RBG’s achievements as a scholar, lawyer, feminist, wife, and mother.
- Celebrate RBG contribution to gender and diversity as a litigator and Supreme Court Justice.
- Learn about how RBG handled conflict.
