PIHRA is excited to announce a collaboration between PIHRA’s #RealHR and PIHRA Pasadena’s HR Round-Table and Book-Club in leading a provocative discussion about racism and anti-racism in the workplace. During this interactive event, high-level panelists will discuss Ibram X. Kendi’s best-selling book, How to Be an Anti-Racist and the types of organization wide changes that HR professionals can implement to move workplace culture to be more inclusive, equitable and diverse.

The objectives of this virtual, interactive panel program include:
- Understand the origin, impact and teachable moments of racism and related factors.
- Identify what racism and anti-racism look like in society, in the workplace and in ourselves.
- Discuss the corporate changes and strategies related to behaviors, systems, training, representation and policies that are necessary to implement to transform organizational culture toward being an anti-racist, inclusive and equitable entity.

Dana Mayhew, MPA
Dana Mayhew is a Human Resources professional and educator. She holds several HR certifications including the PHR-ca, SPHR, and SHRM-SCP. Dana is the founder and principal of TDC Consults, a human resources consulting firm. She is recognized for senior level knowledge in human resources employment laws and is a vibrant speaker. She instructs at UCLA Extension and is an Adjunct Professor of Human Resources Management at Claremont Graduate University. Dana has investigated and addressed the adverse effects of sexual harassment and other illegal harassment in the workplace for over 30 years. She is known for her highly popular interactive sexual harassment and sensitivity training workshops. A long term PIHRA volunteer leader, Dana is currently the chair of Governmental Affairs. This legislative affairs team advocates on behalf of PIHRA’s membership for employment legislation that serves the employer and the employee. Dana is the immediate past chair of PIHRA Pasadena and a recipient of the Human Resources Excellence Award PIHRA 2015. In addition, she is the founder of the HR Round-table and Book-club and the HR Professional Development Program.
||Harold C. Hart-Nibbrig, Esq.
Harold Hart-Nibbrig has been actively engaged in civil rights and community action since college and throughout his career as a business and civil rights lawyer, community activist, and counsel to numerous non-profit community organizations. After his military service, he held various positions where he witnessed how societal systems and policies, including those related to police brutality, worked against people of color. During this time, he worked in the Juvenile Hall system, directed the American Civil Liberties Union Police Malpractice Complaint Center in Watts and was vice president of the Los Angeles Black Congress, an organization of moderate to the militant African American community active groups. After graduating from UCLA School of Law, Harold worked with the Western Center on Law and Poverty and was NAACP lead attorney in the Los Angeles school desegregation case. As counsel to Pacific Coast Regional Corporation since its inception, he worked to increase the development and funding of minority and women-owned businesses.

Nicole Hancock Husband is a Vice President of Human Resources for Warner Bros. Television where she is responsible for negotiating executive contracts, managing employee relations matters, and managing other HR functions. Before moving to HR in 2015, Nicole spent over 11 years as an employment lawyer for Warner Bros. Entertainment Inc. Prior to that, Nicole was an associate at Jeffer, Mangels, Butler & Marmaro, where her practice focused on employment litigation and she spent several years in the Labor & Employment department at Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher (in both Los Angeles and Washington, D.C.). Nicole also clerked for The Honorable Gerald Bruce Lee, U.S. District Court Judge, Eastern District of Virginia and for The Honorable Gregory Kellam Scott, Supreme Court of Colorado. Nicole graduated cum laude from Howard University School of Law in 1996 after having served as the Managing Editor of the Howard Law Journal and a member of the National Moot Court Team. She obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Finance and International Business, with a minor in Spanish, from The Ohio State University in 1993.

Kelli Poole is an advocate and connector who believes strongly in dismantling systems of oppression to build a future that values equity and inclusion. She is the Founder & Host of ‘Race, Equity, Resiliency’ a dinner series for Black women in leadership and she consults with nonprofit and philanthropic organizations to support their implementation of culturally competent workforce development and employee engagement strategies. Kelli is the current Director of the Racial Equity in Homelessness Initiative at Social Venture Partners Los Angeles and has held past roles at the Los Angeles County Department of Health Services and United Way of Greater Los Angeles. She is an alumnus of the Los Angeles African American Women’s Public Policy Institute (LAAAWPPI) and received her B.A in Sociology from Clemson University in Clemson, South Carolina. She enjoys college football, most forms of processed sugar and is constantly in search of her next great read.
