How Social Recognition Empowers
Employees and Creates a Best Place to Work

COVID-19 forced employees to work from home. Employers scrambled and, in a wink, employees were telecommuting in record numbers. For employers, telecommuting seems to be working reasonably well. Many employers see big cost savings if they continue this business model. Yet, working remotely over time could potentially create a serious employee engagement problem. The key to business success states the authors of The Power of Thanks How Social Recognition Empowers Employees and Creates a Best Place to Work is building a fully engaged, energized workforce. Nancy Ingram will share her thoughts on the power of social recognition in times of COVID-19.

Nancy Ingram

Nancy has her Master of Business from Kent State University. She has worked for several large corporations in management capacities, traditionally in Operations, until she found herself becoming the “accidental” employee development manager focused on culture, engagement, and training. She found her passion and never looked back.

Working in development allows Nancy to share her passion through motivating and helping others become their best selves by following their dreams. Nancy’s current role at Southern California Edison allows her to continue in this capacity. She is also active in the Learning and Development community belonging to ISPI-SoCal and ATD-OC. She loves to travel and would have added Greece to her list but alas then came COVID-18. Nancy makes her home in Whittier with her husband and their kitty cat, Tiara.
