Catch and Kill:
Lies, Spies and the Conspiracy
to Protect Predators
by Ronan Farrow
Facilitator - Ramit Mizrahi, Esq.
The #MeToo movement started with multiple sexual harassment allegations against actor Bill Cosby and avalanched into a multitude of sexual harassment claims against Harvey Weinstein and other entertainment, sports, and corporate powerhouses. Catch and Kill is a dramatic exposé that explores how sexual harassment and abuse were enabled and covered up for years. It is a wake-up call for HR professionals. The book’s author, Pulitzer Prize-winning investigative journalist and Yale Law School graduate Ronan Farrow, is a champion for the rights of sexual harassment and abusive victims. His drive emanated from his belief that that the sexual abuse claims made by his then seven-year-old sister Dylan were never fairly recognized. His is a powerful voice.
Catch and Kill was an Instant New York Times Best, USA Today, Wall Street Journal, and Indie Bound bestseller. It is a dramatic account of sexual violence and espionage. The names of notables keep unfolding page by page. Ronan exposes serial abusers and a cabal of powerful interests determined “…to cover up the truth. In 2017, a routine network television investigation led Ronan to a story only whispered about: one of Hollywood's most powerful producers was a predator, protected by fear, wealth, and a conspiracy of silence.” We will explore the book and the challenging issues arising from sexual harassment in corporate America from the perspectives of the victims and that of HR professionals.
