Is your company enjoying the purpose and giving advantage? Research has found that purpose-oriented and corporate-giving organizations have more engaged and energized employees, have more loyal and satisfied customers, and perform better in terms of returns to shareholders.

This event features Bea Boccalandro, a globally-recognized thought leader on corporate social purpose, and the leaders of two of most purpose-oriented and giving organizations in Orange County: Charles Antis (CEO) and Ernie Basulto (Director of HR) from Antis Roofing & Waterproofing and Trish Elliott (VP, People & Systems) and Kyle Guerin (Director, Foundation and Corporate Responsibility) from Pacific Dental Services. This panel will discuss (1) the benefits and costs associated with being purpose-oriented and corporate-giving, (2) how to become more purpose-oriented and corporate-giving, and (3) overcoming common challenges in this effort.

This presentation will help HR professionals develop in the following areas:

  1. HR’s Role in Organizations – Help HR professionals play a strategic and value-add role in their organization’s effectiveness
  2. Organization Development – Guide HR professionals to advance the mission and purpose of their organization

Bea Boccalandro - Bea works with Aetna, Allstate, Caesars Entertainment, Disney, FedEx, HP, IBM, Levi’s, PwC, Toyota and many other brands to increase the social impact of jobs. “Job purposing” as this practice is called, has been shown to heighten employee engagement, performance and wellbeing while alleviating hunger, poverty, environmental degradation and other societal issues. Bea is founder and president of VeraWorks, a global firm that helps businesses job purpose or otherwise support the community. She is also author of the Job Purposing blog, teaches corporate community involvement at Georgetown University and is a frequent keynote speaker. 
  Charles Antis - Charles Antis is the founder and CEO of Antis Roofing and Waterproofing. Antis is a member of the Board of Directors for the Orange County chapter of Habitat for Humanity, and his company has donated every roof installation of every home built by Habitat OC since 2009. In 2014, Habitat OC awarded him Volunteer of the Year. In 2017, Antis was awarded the "Community Involvement 1st Place Award" at the International Roofing Expo.®
  Ernie Basulto – Ernie was a Senior Human Resources Business Partner at the 5th largest retail mortgage lender in the nation, and is currently the Director of Human Resources at Antis Roofing & Waterproofing. At Antis he provides leadership in all aspects of HR including hiring practices, establishes company culture, and guides employees to find their Purpose at work.
  Trish Elliott - Woman of Influence Award - LA Biz Journal 2015. HR Superstar Award - HRO Today 2015. Special Recognition of Women in Leadership - State of California Senate and California Assembly 2017. A perfect combination of experience in Operations as a GM and Supply Chain leader and bringing that to the world of Human Resources. Skilled in business strategy, organizational effectiveness, executive coaching, mergers & acquisitions, HR Operations and Systems. Certified Trainer – Leadership Development.
  Kyle Guerin - High energy, passionate, inspirational individual with nearly 20 years of experience in the area of marketing, corporate social responsibility, and non-profit leadership. Over his career, Kyle has been responsible for raising funds for over 157,000 people to have clean drinking water with charity water. He has led the building of 16 playgrounds with KaBoom. Led the donated dental services of over $25 million to over 12,500 patients for Smile Generation Serve Day. Kyle has personally led over 20 international service trips to Ethiopia, Fiji, and Guatemala.

There will be a 50% administration fee for any cancellations. If you need to cancel, we must receive it in writing (email or fax) 2 business days prior to the event during normal business hours. Refunds will not be given to no-shows. Credits will not be issued for use towards future PIHRA events.
